Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's bout.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
